Removal & Installation (5.4L F150) 

Remove the accelerator control splash shield. Remove the DPFE sensor bracket nut and position the bracket 
aside. See Fig. 145 . Disconnect the EGR valve vacuum line and disconnect the EGR valve tube upper fitting. 
Remove the two bolts and remove the EGR valve. See Fig. 146 . Discard the gasket. The EGR valve sealing 
surfaces are soft metals. Carefully clean both sealing surfaces. Install a new gasket. To complete installation, 
reverse the removal procedure. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

Removal & Installation (5.4L Expedition) 

Remove the appearance cover. Remove the clean air tubes. See Fig. 147 . Disconnect the EGR vacuum 
regulator solenoid vacuum and electrical connections. Disconnect the differential pressure feedback EGR 
system vacuum and electrical connections. Disconnect the EGR valve vacuum hose and the EGR tube upper 
fitting. Remove the EGR Vacuum Regulator (EVR) solenoid bracket. See Fig. 148 . Remove the bolts and the 
EGR valve. See Fig. 149 . Discard the gasket. The EGR valve sealing surfaces are soft metals. Carefully clean 
both of the sealing surfaces. Install a new gasket. To complete installation, reverse the removal procedure. 
Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
