CAMSHAFT POSITION SYNCHRONIZER 

CAUTION: When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems 

may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer 
systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN 
PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting 
battery.

COILS 

Removal & Installation (Coil-On-Plug 2-Valve) 

Disconnect ignition coil harness connectors. Disconnect fuel injector connectors. Remove ignition coils. See 
Fig. 131 . Remove spark plugs. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten all fasteners to specification. See 
TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

Removal & Installation (Coil-On-Plug 4-Valve) 

Remove ignition coil covers. See Fig. 132 . Disconnect ignition coil harness connectors. Remove ignition coils.
