Ford F150 Pickup. Instruction - part 1312

See Fig. 113 .  

3. Position the vacuum harness aside. Remove the brake booster vacuum tube bracket nut. Disconnect and 

position the vacuum tube aside. Remove the EGR vacuum regulator solenoid bracket bolt. Disconnect the 
Idle Air Control (IAC) electrical connector. Disconnect the coolant hoses and the vacuum hose from the 
Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) heater fitting. Remove the throttle body adapter assembly. See Fig. 
26 . Remove the PCV valve and hose.  

4. Disconnect the fuel tube spring lock coupling. See FUEL LINE CONNECTORS . Disconnect the eight 

fuel injector electrical connectors. Remove the 4 bolts and lift the fuel injection supply manifold and the 
injectors upward out of the intake manifold. See Fig. 114 . To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten 
fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

Removal & Installation (5.4L 4V) 

1. Relieve the fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Remove the upper intake 

manifold. See INTAKE MANIFOLD under AIR INDUCTION SYSTEMS. Disconnect the fuel lines. 
See FUEL LINE CONNECTORS . After disconnecting, plug the fuel lines to prevent leakage.  

2. Disconnect the fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose. Disconnect the eight fuel injector electrical 

connectors. Remove the bolts, then remove the fuel injection supply manifold with the fuel injectors 
attached. See Fig. 115 . Remove the fuel injectors from the fuel injection supply manifold. Inspect the 
two "O" ring seals from each fuel injector. Install new "O" ring seals as needed. Lubricate the new "O" 
rings with clean engine oil to aid installation. To complete installation, reverse the removal procedure. 
Tighten fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

FUEL TANK 

Removal & Installation (Blackwood & F150 Except Supercharged) 

1. Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Disconnect negative battery 

cable. Raise and support vehicle. Remove fuel tank skid plate, if equipped. See Fig. 116 . Drain fuel from 
vehicle. See FUEL TANK DRAINING .  

2. Disconnect the fuel tank filler pipe vent hose from the fuel tank. Position special tool under the fuel tank. 

Remove the fuel tank support straps and partially lower the fuel tank. See Fig. 117 . Disconnect the fuel 
lines from the fuel pump. See FUEL LINE CONNECTORS . See Fig. 118 . Disconnect the Evaporative 
(EVAP) emission hose. See Fig. 119 . Disconnect the fuel tank pressure sensor electrical connector. 
Release the rear EVAP hose clamp and disconnect the hose. Disconnect the fuel pump electrical 
connector. Lower and remove the fuel tank.  

3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fasteners to specification. See TORQUE 

SPECIFICATIONS . Perform after repair procedure. See AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE under 

WARNING:

On Blackwood and Navigator models, the air suspension system must be 
shut off prior to hoisting or jacking vehicle. Turn off the air suspension 
switch, located below the glove box in the lower right side of the 
passenger foot well.
