6. Install the upper crankshaft main bearings in the cylinder block. 

The third bearing from the front of the engine is the thrust bearing.

7. Install the lower crankshaft main bearings in the bearing caps.  

8. Install the crankshaft. 

Lubricate the main bearings and crankshaft journals with clean engine oil.  

Make sure the woodruff key is installed in the end of the crankshaft.

NOTE:

The main bearings are precision selective fit. Inspect the 
bearing clearance. For additional information, refer to ENGINE 
SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION .

NOTE:

If the rear main bearing cap is not installed within four minutes, 
remove the sealant and re-apply.
