4. Remove the rocker arms. 

1. Remove the bolts.

2. Remove the rocker arms.  

5. Using the special tool, compress the valve spring.

6. Remove the following: 

1. Remove the valve spring retainer key.  

2. Remove the valve spring retainer.  

3. Remove the valve spring.  

4. Remove and discard the valve stem seal and seat.

7. Inspect the components, if necessary. For additional information, refer to ENGINE 

SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION .  

Installation 

CAUTION: The components removed should be marked for location; 

make sure the components are installed in the correct 
location.

NOTE:

Lubricate parts with clean engine oil.

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Tighten the rocker arm bolts in two stages.
