Symptom: DRIVER DOOR UNLATCH CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND When Monitored and Set Condition: DRIVER DOOR UNLATCH CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND When Monitored: At all times when battery power is supplied to the Body Control Module. Set Condition: When the BCM senses an over current condition on the Driver Door Unlatch Driver circuit for over 125 milliseconds during an unlatch action. POSSIBLE CAUSES DTC PRESENT BODY CONTROL MODULE - DRIVER DOOR UNLATCH DRIVER SHORT TO GROUND DRIVER DOOR UNLATCH DRIVER WIRE SHORT TO GROUND DRIVER DOOR LATCH MOTOR - SHORT TO GROUND TEST ACTION APPLICABILITY 1 With the DRBIII t, record and erase DTC’s. With the DRBIII t, read DTC’s. Try to open and close the driver door several times while monitoring the DRBIII t. Does the DRBIII t display DRIVER DOOR UNLATCH CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND? All Yes → Go To 2 No → Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition. 2 Disconnect the Body Control Module C2 connector. All Yes → Go To 3 No → Replace the Body Control Module. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. 3 Disconnect the Body Control Module C2 connector. All Yes → Repair the Driver Door Unlatch Driver wire for a short to ground. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. No → Replace the Door Latch Motor. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. 305 POWER DOOR LOCKS/RKE |
