(3) Loosely install bolts attaching the hinge to the

decklid.

(4) Align the hinge marks made on the decklid.
(5) Tighten the bolts attaching hinge to the decklid

to 28 N·m (21 ft. lbs.).

(6) Verify decklid operation and alignment and

adjust if necessary. (Refer to 23 - BODY/BODY
STRUCTURE/GAP

AND

FLUSH

(7) Install splash shields.
(8) Install rear wheels and tighten to specified

torque. (Refer to 22 - TIRES/WHEELS - INSTALLA-
TION).

REMOVAL

(1) Remove the three screws and remove the key

cylinder cable bracket. (Fig. 6)

(2) Using a grease pencil or equivalent, lightly

mark the outline of the latch on decklid to assist
installation.

(3) Remove bolts attaching latch to decklid (Fig. 7).
(4) Remove latch from vehicle.

INSTALLATION

(1) Position latch to vehicle.
(2) Loosely install bolts attaching latch to decklid.
(3) Using previously made marks, align decklid

latch to outline on decklid.

(4) Tighten bolts attaching decklid latch to decklid

to 12 N·m (9 ft. lbs.).

(5) Install the lock cylinder bracket and install the

three screws.

(6) Verify decklid operation and alignment and

adjust if necessary. (Refer to 23 - BODY/BODY
STRUCTURE/GAP

LATCH STRIKER

REMOVAL

(1) Open the decklid.
(2) Using a grease pencil or equivalent, mark the

location of the striker to aid installation.

(3) Remove the two bolts and remove the striker.

(Fig. 8)

INSTALLATION

(1) Position striker to vehicle.
(2) Install bolts attaching decklid latch striker to

trunk tail panel and tighten to 12 N·m (9 ft. lbs.).

(3) Verify decklid operation and alignment and

adjust if necessary. (Refer to 23 - BODY/BODY

LOCK CYLINDER

REMOVAL

(1) Remove the three screws and position aside the

lock cylinder cable bracket. (Fig. 6)

(2) Remove the nut and remove the lock cylinder.

(Fig. 9)

INSTALLATION

(1) Position lock cylinder and seal through opening

in decklid.

(2) Install nut attaching lock cylinder to the deck-

lid and tighten to 12 N·m (9 ft. lbs.).

(3) Align lock cylinder arm to slot in latch remote

and insert arm into slot.

(4) Install the three lock cylinder cable bracket

screws.

SLAM BUMPER

REMOVAL

(1) Release decklid latch and open decklid.
(2) Rotate

slam

bumper

counterclockwise

and

remove the slam bumper from the decklid. (Fig. 10)

INSTALLATION

(1) Position slam bumper to decklid.
(2) Rotate slam bumper clockwise to achieve cor-

rect decklid to quarter panel alignment. (Refer to 23 -

REMOVAL

(1) Remove the three screws and remove the door

hinge cover. (Fig. 1)

(2) Open the door and disconnect the door wire

harness connectors at the instrument panel and pull
the harness from the hinge pillar. (Fig. 2)

(3) Support door on suitable lifting device.
(4) Using a grease pencil or equivalent, mark out-

line of door hinge on hinge pillar and door shut face.

(5) Remove bolts attaching door hinge to hinge pil-

lar (Fig. 12).

(6) Remove the door from vehicle.

INSTALLATION

(1) Position door to vehicle.
(2) Push door harness into pillar and engage wire

harness boot to hinge pillar.

(3) Close and latch door.
(4) Align door hinge to previously made marks on

hinge pillar.

(5) Install bolts holding door hinge to pillar and

tighten to 37 N·m (27 ft. lbs.).

(6) Connect

the

electrical

connectors

located

behind hinge pillar.

(7) Install the door hinge cover and install the

three screws to the fender.
