(13) Remove shift fork and synchronizer sleeve as

an assembly (Fig. 16).

(14) Remove 5-6 gear shift fork snap ring (Fig. 17).

(15) Remove reverse gear from countershaft with

three jaw puller (Fig. 18).

(16) Remove fifth gear snap ring from countershaft

(Fig. 19).

tershaft (Fig. 20).

(18) Remove fifth gear and bearing from counter-

shaft (Fig. 21).

(19) Remove 5-6 gear from mainshaft with Puller

9379, Bolts 9378 and Bridge 9382 (Fig. 22).

(20) Remove shift fork and 5-6 synchronizer sleeve

(Fig. 23).

(21) Remove 5-6 synchronizer snap ring and syn-

chronizer hub (Fig. 24) from countershaft.

(22) Remove sixth gear synchronizer stop ring

(Fig. 25).

(23) Remove sixth gear, bearing and thrust washer

from countershaft (Fig. 26).

(24) Remove top cover plate bolts and pry off cover

(Fig. 27).

(25) Remove shift detent assembly (Fig. 28). Check

O-ring, replace if required.

(26) Drive roll pin down into front offset lever

until loose (Fig. 29).

(27) Remove reverse lockout solenoid
(28) Separate offset lever and guide plate to

remove the roll pin that was driven down in Step
26of this procedure.

(29) Remove two torx screws located on the top of

the transmission case (Fig. 30).

(30) Remove clutch slave cylinder from transmis-

sion.

(31) Remove all front adapter bolts (Fig. 31) except

one to hold the front adapter in place.

(32) Stand transmission on Fixture 9387 and bolt

adapter to fixture.

(33) Install on bench Fixture 9385.
