FLYWHEEL Removal And Installation Remove the three belt shield clips (Item 1) [A] and Loosen and remove the drive belt tension pulley (Item 1) Remove the drive belt. (Refer to Page 1–1 for drive belt Remove the six mounting bolts (Item 1) [C] from the Installation: Apply engine oil to the threads and seats Remove the flywheel from the engine. Installation: Be sure to align the hole (Item 3) [C] in the Reverse the removal procedure to install the flywheel. Flywheel Ring Gear The ring gear (Item 1) [D] on the flywheel is an Clean the outer surface of the flywheel thoroughly so the Clean the new ring gear and heat it to a temperature of ° –500 ° F. (232 ° –260 ° C.) Fit the ring gear on the flywheel and be sure the gear is NOTE: Photo’s may be different but the procedure is the same for all models.
