ADJUSTMENTS SHIFT CABLE 1. Remove the center console cover. See CENTER CONSOLE under REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION. 2. Shift the transaxle into "R" position. 3. Remove the nut securing the shift cable end. See Fig. 8 . 4. Press the holder lock release (A), and pull out the socket holder (B) to remove the shift cable (C) from the shift lever bracket base (D). Do not remove the shift cable by pulling the shift cable guide (E). See Fig. 5. Push the shift cable until it stops. Release it. See Fig. 10 . Pull the shift cable back one step so that the 6. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and verify that the "R" position indicator illuminates. 7. Turn the ignition switch OFF. 8. Ensure shift lever is in "R" position. Insert a .24" (6.0 mm) pin (A) through the positioning hole (B) on the shift lever bracket base and into the positioning hole (C) on the shift lever. See Fig. 11 . The shift 9.
