3. Reinstall the tab portions of the vent first, then push the clip portions into place securely. DASHBOARD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and the precautions and 1. Make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the radio and the navigation system, then write down the frequencies for the preset buttons. 2. Disconnect the negative battery cable, and wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work. 3. Remove these items: a. Passenger's seat (see FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ) b. Center console (see CENTER CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ) c. Center pocket (see CENTER CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ) d. Driver's dashboard lower cover (see DRIVER'S DASHBOARD LOWER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ) e. Glove box (see GLOVE BOX REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ) f. Kick panels, both sides (see TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - DOOR AREA ) g. A-pillar trim, both sides (see TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - DOOR AREA ) h. Steering column (see STEERING COLUMN REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ) i. Stereo amplifier (see STEREO AMPLIFIER REPLACEMENT ) j. Shift lever brackets, A/T model (see SHIFT LEVER ) k. SRS control unit (see AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS ) 4. Remove the screw (A) and release the clips (B, C), then remove the driver's center lower cover (D) and the rear vent duct (E). NOTE: z When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape, and z Have an assistant help you when removing and installing the dashboard. z Take care not to scratch the dashboard, body and other related parts. z Put on gloves to protect your hands.
