3. Measure the resistance between the appropriate

wheel sensor (

) and (

) circuit terminals of the

ABS modulator-control unit 25P connector (see
table).

4. Check for continuity between the appropriate

wheel sensor (

) circuit terminal and other wheel

sensor (

) circuit terminals of the ABS modulator-

Repair short in the wire between the

appropriate wheel sensor and the other wheel
sensor.

Clear the DTC, and test-drive the vehicle. If

the ABS indicator comes on and the same DTC is
indicated, replace the ABS modulator-control unit
(see page 19-59).

5. Disconnect the harness 2P connector from the

appropriate wheel sensor, and check the resistance
between the (

) side and the (

) side of the wheel

sensor.

Replace the wheel sensor (see page 19-60).

Repair short to wire between the appropriate

wheel sensor (

) and (

) circuits.

1. Clear the DTC (see page 19-34).

2. Test-drive the vehicle at 19 mph (30 km/h) or more.

Go to step 3.

The system is OK at this time.

3. Check the appropriate pulser gear for a chipped or

damaged tooth (see table) (see page 19-60).

Check for loose terminals in the ABS

modulator-control unit 25P connector. If necessary,
substitute a known-good ABS modulator-control
unit, and recheck.

Replace the driveshaft or hub unit with the

chipped pulser gear.

1. Clear the DTC (see page 19-34).

2. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).

3. Verify the DTC.

Check for loose terminals in the ABS

modulator-control unit 25P connector. If necessary,
substitute a known-good ABS modulator-control
unit, and recheck.

The system is OK at this time.

Does the ABS indicator come on, and ar e DT Cs 21,
22, 23, 24 indicated?

Is the pulser gear OK ?

Does the ABS indicator come on, and ar e DT Cs 31,
32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37 , 38 indicated?

1. Check for brake drag.

Repair the brake drag.

Go to step 2.

2. Check the installation of the appropriate wheel

sensor (see table).

The probable cause was the vehicle spun

during cornering.

Reinstall the wheel sensor correctly.

1. Check the No. 10 (30 A) fuse in the under-hood

fuse/relay box, and reinstall the fuse if it is OK.

Go to step 2.

Replace the fuse, and recheck.

2. Disconnect the ABS modulator-control unit 25P

connector.

3. Measure the voltage between the ABS modulator-

control unit 25P connector terminal No. 9 and body
ground.

Go to step 4.

Repair open in the wire between the No. 10

(30 A) fuse and the ABS modulator-control unit.

4. Connect the ABS modulator-control unit 25P

connector.

5. Clear the DTC (see page 19-34).

6. Test-drive the vehicle at 6 mph (10 km/h) or more.

Replace the ABS modulator-control unit

(see page 19-59).

The system is OK at this time.

Motor Stuck ON

1. Check the No. 10 (30 A) fuse in the under-hood

fuse/relay box, and reinstall the fuse if it is OK.

Go to step 2.

Replace the fuse, and recheck.

2. Disconnect the ABS modulator-control unit 25P

connector.

3. Measure the voltage between the ABS modulator-

control unit 25P connector terminal No. 9 and body
ground.

Check for loose terminals in the ABS

modulator-control unit 25P connector. If necessary,
substitute a known-good ABS modulator-control
unit, and recheck.

Repair open in the wire between the No. 10

(30 A) fuse and the ABS modulator-control unit.

1. Clear the DTC (see page 19-34).

2. Test-drive the vehicle.

Replace the ABS modulator-control unit

(see page 19-59).

The system is OK at this time.
