DTC 4-3 CAUTION: Whenever the ignition switch is ON (II), or airbags could accidentally deploy and cause damage or injuries. Try to reproduce the SRS indicator light: 1. Erase the DTC memory (see page ). 2. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and check that the SRS indicator light comes on for about 6 seconds, and then Check for a short to another wire in the SRS floor harness: 1. Disconnect the negative battery cable, and wait for 3 minutes. 2. Disconnect the driver's and front passenger's side airbag connectors, then disconnect the driver's airbag connec- ). 3. Disconnect the SRS floor harness 18P connector from ). 4. Disconnect the special tool from the SRS floor har- ). 5. Check resistance between the No. 6 and No. 17 terminals of the SRS floor harness 18P connector. There should be 1 or more. Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. See Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures on page Check for a short to another wire in the front passenger's 1. Disconnect the negative battery cable, and wait for 3 minutes. 2. Disconnect the right side wire harness 2P connector from the front passenger's seat belt tensioner 2P connector (see ). 3. Connect the special tool to the right side wire har- ). 4. Reconnect the negative battery cable. ). ). Short to another wire in the front passenger's seat belt tensioner; replace the front passenger's seat belt (see ). Check for a short to another wire in the right side wire har- ness: 1. Disconnect the negative battery cable, and wait for 3 minutes. 2. Disconnect the SRS floor harness 2P connector from the right side wire harness 2P connector (see page ). 3. Connect the special tool (2 0) to the SRS floor harness 2P connector (see page ). 4.
