This can result in longer braking distances and more wear. • → Use only the type-specific brake pads specified in the Porsche Spare Parts Catalogue. ATTENTION Increased risk of accidents if old parts are fitted on brake calliper. This can cause malfunctions. • → Fit new expanding spring, new retainer pin and new retainer on the brake calliper. Note The brake pad backing plates (rear side) must not be greased. 1. Before installing the brake pads, check the amount of wear on the brake discs. For details of the minimum thickness of the brake discs, see Technical data/Brake wear limit in Repair Group 46. 2. If necessary, reset the brake pistons using the piston resetting fixture. Vibration damper 3. Fit new vibration dampers in the pistons. Remove protective film from the vibration dampers before installation. 4. Insert the brake pads. 5. Fit new expanding spring, new retainer pin and new retainer. These parts are available as a repair set and must be replaced each time the pads are changed. 6. Insert the warning contact wire and the warning contacts. 7. Press the brake pedal several times to position the brake pads on the brake discs. 8.
