→ Thread repairs must only be performed using the Time-Sert thread

repair kit

Note

The repair bushing must be installed recessed. To mill in the respective shoulder, the tool with the designation
Spot facer for Time-Sert thread repair kit NR.122-2

 for M8, M10, M12 or M14 must be used. The tool

provided with the complete set supplied must not be used in this case!

Note

While pressing in the base thread, a noticeably larger amount of force is required on the screw-in tool to form
the internal thread. Pressing is finished when the screw-in tool can be turned further more easily.

1. Drilling out thread

Drilling out thread

Select kit M10.
Drill out old thread with drill contained in kit M10 B as far as the base of the thread.

2. Milling in shoulder

Milling in shoulder

Select kit M10.
Mill out bore hole with spot facer C up to dimension X, see: Table. Milling in can only be
performed using the tool Spot facer for Time-Sert thread repair kit NR.122-2. For milling, use
an electronically controlled power drill set to a speed of approx. 250

3. Cutting

Cut thread using a cutting tool D up to dimension Y into the chassis bushing, see Table ?????. Clean the
thread on the chassis bushing (blow it out).

4. Positioning threaded bushing on the screw-in tool

Clean the thread on the bushing and screw-in
tool.

Oil the screw-in
tool E.

Screw the threaded bushing A onto the screw-in tool E by hand.

Screwing in threaded bushing

Completely screw in threaded bushing A (note bushing length classification) with the screw-in
tool E.

6. Pressing threaded bushing

Pressing threaded bushing

Form and press threaded bushing E by turning further with the screw-in tool D in the base
thread.

7. Unscrewing the screw-in tool

Unscrew screw-in tool E from the threaded bushing
