1. GENERAL
The LPG Breakaways are intended to protect the dispenser, vehicle and fueling nozzle from damage if a vehicle moves away from the
refueling point while still coupled to the fuel line.
The OPW OAS400 breakaway with Anchor Strap is designed for in-line use with any LPG fueling system.
Operation temperature range is -40⁰C to 85⁰C (-40⁰F to 185⁰F).
Separation force is 200 - 500 N.
The pumping system need to be switched off prior to connection and disconnection.
The OAS400 is only intended for operation at the service pressure up to 24 bar (350 psi).
2. SAFETY

Leather gloves
Installation to be performed by authorized personnel only
Safety glasses
Do not smoke or use any open fire or electrical devices that can cause a spark
Face shield
Check nozzle for proper operation
Closed toe safety shoes
Make sure swivel and lever move freely
Exhaust (front) gasket must be in place and fully inserted
Hose, nozzle and swivel must have new O-rings in place prior to installation
WARNING: Make sure hose and nozzle are depressurized before performing maintenance or removing nozzle!

3. INSTALLATION
The Inlet and outlet threads of OAS400 are ¾” Gas (BSPP) Female.
CAUTION: The OAS400 must be connected between the dispenser and the nozzle between two sections of hoses so it is free to
align itself in a straight manner.
1. Inspect the unit and make sure that both valves are fully connected. All units are being setup and locked with set screw to
break at requested force.
2. Make sure that the threads on both the hose fitting as well as the inlet and outlet ports are clean and free of any debris, oil,
grease or Teflon tape.
3. Only use the wrench flats when tightening the hose (connect OPW breakaway only to certified hoses according to EN1762)
to the breakaways. Do not grasp the housing!

1. Depressurize the dispenser system and hose before attempting re-connection.
2. Clean dirt or debris from both valves of the breakaway unit before re-assembly is attempted.
3. Use socket-screw key (size 2,5) to unscrew the lock screw.
4. With wrench flats (size 32) hold the inlet (green) and by hand turn the ring (red) approximately 5-6 mm or until outlet can be
easily pushed into the body.
5. Apply adequate amount of vaseline inside the body where the balls are located.

6. Insert outlet body and hold it down while turning the ring back to the original position. You can release outlet after one
turn of the ring.
7. The top edge of the ring must be flat with the body edge.
8. Use socket-screw key (size 2,5) to screw back the lock screw to secure ring in position.

5. MAINTENANCE
The re-connectable breakaway must not be exposed to debris, dirt, water or chemicals. Service life is dependent on handling
and care of the product.
Unusual operation must be reported to the service representative immediately.
Routine maintenance:
1. Regularly check if there are any foreign element around the moving part (outlet body) and clean it if necessary.
After two (2) years of service:
1. OPW recommend that the product is replaced with a new one, or to send it to OPW for complete maintenance and testing.

6. PRODUCT WARRANTY
OPW warrants that products sold by it are free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of
shipment by OPW. As the exclusive remedy under this limited warranty, OPW, will at its sole discretion, repair, replace or issue credit for
future orders for any product that may prove defective within the one year period.
This warranty shall not apply to any product which has been altered, repaired by any party other than a service representative authorized
by OPW, or when failure is due to misuse, conditions of use, or improper installation and maintenance. OPW shall in no instance have any
liability whatsoever for special, incidental, or consequential damages to any part, and shall have no liability for the cost of labour, fright,
excavation, clean up, downtime removal, reinstallation, loss of profit or any other cost or charges in excess of the amount of the invoice
for the products.
THIS WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AND SPECIFICALLY THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABIL-
ITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES WHICH EXTEND BEYOND THE DESCRIPTION ON THE FACE
HEREOF.
