M00-Q0400 TLM-B Probe Installation
Guide
1 TLM-B Probe Installation Instructions
This document explains how to perform the TLM-B Probe Upgrade to allow the EECO 1500, Galaxy or EECO
2000 System to use the new TLM-B Probe.
In regards to compatibility, if your existing TLM software version is 2.3, you must upgrade the console by
replacing with included TLM chip. Please follow TLM Chip Replacement instructions below. However, if your
TLM software version is older than version 2.3 and experience problems after upgrading the included
software, you may need to upgrade your main console software as well. Please contact OPW Technical
support for recommendations.
WARNING: IC CHIPS CAN BE DAMAGED BY STATIC ELECTRICITY! GROUND YOURSELF
BY TOUCHING THE METAL ENCLOSURE BEFORE TOUCHING THE IC CHIPS.

TLM Chip Replacement Instructions
1.
Open EECO or Galaxy Door. Turn EECO Power OFF at the power switch. Make sure you are
grounded for ESD protection
2.
Proceed to Step 6 if this is an EECO 2000.

Proceed to Step 3 below if you have an
EECO 1500 or Galaxy System.
3.
Locate the TLM Chip on the Circuit Board.
4.
Remove the TLM Chip with a small
screwdriver.
5.
Install the new TLM Chip into the socket. Be
sure the notch in the chip aligns with the
EECO 1500
Galaxy
notch in the socket. Be careful not to bend
any pins during installation. Skip Step 6 & proceed to
Step 7.
6.
If this is an EECO 2000:
a. Remove TLM Driver Board from System.
b. Use a small screwdriver to remove the TLM chip
TLM Chip
from board.
c.
Install the new TLM Chip into the socket. Be sure
the notch in the chip aligns with the notch in the
socket. Be careful not to bend any pins during
EECO2000 TLM Driver Board
installation.
d. Replace the TLM board in the same slot removed from on the EECO 2000.
7.
Go to TLM-B Probe Replacement Instructions before turning EECO or Galaxy power ON!
1.1.1
TLM-B Probe Replacement Instructions:
1.
Verify EECO or Galaxy Power is OFF before proceeding!
2.
Disconnect probe cable from old EECO Probe and from the tank riser.
3.
Install the 30-15XX-XX Float Kit on new TLM-B Probe using instructions included with the Float Kit.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT REUSE AN EECO FLOAT ON A TLM-B PROBE. THE PROBE WILL
NOT WORK.
4.
Replace the old probe cable with the provided Blue Probe Cable. Pay special attention to the wiring in
the junction box; the TLM-B Probe requires a different wiring scheme than the old EECO Probe. The
probe wiring instructions (M00-10-1185) are provided with the float kit.
5.
Lay the TLM-B Probe on the ground and attach the 10-1185 Blue Probe Cable to TLM-B Probe.
6.
Using the last page of this document, make sure the space between the water float and the product
float is 3" (7.62 cm) apart in distance. To do this, use the attached template to locate the water and
product floats for the calibration procedure. Turn EECO Power ON and program the new TLM-B Probe as
you would an EECO Probe (i.e. Gradients, Serial Number, Float Size and Type).
WARNING: AT LEAST ONE TANK MUST BE SET TO “ACTIVE” BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO
CALIBRATE OR TO READ AN INSTALLED PROBE. THIS IS A NECESSARY STEP AFTER
ANY ATTEMPT TO “RAM CLEAR” AN EECO 1500 SYSTEM.
7.
Run the probe calibration command to acquire values for the water float and product float.
8.
Install probe in the tank and check for proper operation.
